psalm 139:7-16

7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, [a] you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

for the birthday girl!

Happy Birthday Grandma Bazemore!!!

Martial Arts...

I was thinking about how to stay in shape and was also looking for a physical challenge...we were able to go rock climbing occasionally in Thailand but someone forgot to build rocks in FL. I have always been interested in martial arts so when I found out that someone with JESUS Film was going to start a ministry using his martial arts skills, I wanted to give it a try.

Last night I passed my first rank...you start out with a white belt and I tested for my yellow belt(as you can see)...today I am quite sore after my 45 minute exam. Next stop is Orange, Lord willing.

The ministry is called On Mission Martial Arts. To advance in ranks you must attain a certain level of competence in a set of strikes, kicks, etc. as well as memorize scripture, participate in a community outreach or service project, complete a few essays and answer some worksheets.

The martial art itself is Kempo. For more info about OMMA you can go here...

day in the life of hudson michael...

he looks just like dad, but he enjoys sleep like mom... takes a while just to get him up to eat...

of course, when he's eating, he doesn't want to stop, either -- sometimes he takes well over an hour to eat breakfast... often he falls back asleep during breakfast.

hudson likes lots of time with dad.

nap time with moose

aunt carly came to visit!

he likes walks with mom, too -- just big enough for the baby bjorn carrier (8lbs this week!)... and he loves it... usually asleep within 5 minutes of being buckled in.

back to sleep.

the shower

some lovely friends (pictured left) threw me a lovely shower before hudson's arrival...

lovely food...

lovely gifts...

lovely Mommee (french grandmother title) came into town.

child prodigy

so now we know why people post so many pics of their kids... here are a few of our little man child... (he's been holding his head up on his own since the first hour of his life, by the way... that's gotta put him in the 98th percentile for something)

following are a bunch more pics that maybe only grandparents will appreciate, but heck, grandparents are worth it!

faintest traces

Man is so great that his greatness appears even in knowing himself to be miserable. A tree has no sense of its misery. It is true that to know we are miserable is to be miserable; but to know we are miserable is also to be great. Thus all the miseries of man prove his grandeur; they are the miseries of a dignified personage, the miseries of a dethroned monarch…What can this incessant craving, and this impotence of attainment mean, unless there was once a happiness belonging to man, of which only the faintest traces remain, in that void which he attempts to fill with everything within his reach?

At noon one week ago today, Caryn was having contractions and Hudson hadn't seen a "Field-n-Stream" magazine yet. We were still 6 hours away from leaving for The Birth Center. Can't believe that it has already been a week. Here are some pictures from the last few days.

Starting early on the important stuff...

Just chillin' on the couch...

Momee and Pappy enjoying their first grandchild...the grandmother at the birthing center assured Caryn and I that this was not OUR baby...this one belongs to the grandparents and maybe the second one will be ours.

Pappy claiming his right and wearing the shirt to prove it!
