applause for a good company

this wonderful company has really creative, high quality & reasonable pricing on unique personalized gifts (which i LOVE!)...

i won't go into details (so as to not spoil the surprise for certain gift recipients at an upcoming holiday), but here's been my history of intaraction with this company:

1. ordered a couple of cute gifts at a great price
2. received my order which was perfect, except for a small defect on one of the items.
3. contacted the company explaining the problem & my situation (that i needed the gift by a certain date).
4. received a prompt reply promising a new item.
5. got the new item quickly & in perfect condition - i didn't even have to pay extra shipping or return the slightly defective item.

i highly recommend doing business with them.
here are a couple of their fun products.... upload your own pics, of course... haven't you always wanted to be on a pillow or a wheaties t-shirt???

book previews

i just googled a couple of books to add to our current/recent reads & noticed google has a book preview thingy... check it out...

divine conspiracy

some are only excerpts, while others (no longer under copyright), have the whole book online... i love that it even looks like a book & it's not just text (though plain text is also sometimes available...

phantastes

i realize you can preview certain books on amazon, etc., but i love how this takes you right to it. how cool is that?

chip off the old...

at our rehearsal dinner (and i conjecture many other times), mike's dad proudly told a story of mike (at a very young age, like 6 or something) completely taking apart a bicycle & putting it back together in working order.
i sat down to check email this morning & glanced over to my left to see this:

comin' at ya

Redfish-ing...

I finally got to go fishing on the Indian River near the east coast of Florida on saturday as part of a birthday present to a friend. We found success and caught two redfish and a nice sea trout...all of which grilled up nicely.

Typical Monday...

Springtime is the time of year when alligators fall in love...and to find their mates they must start lake-hopping looking for that special someone. It is also a time when they begin eating a lot to make up for winter laziness, which can make them quite aggressive and more dangerous to humans than usual...this 11 ft 1 inch gator was caught in a lake right next to the building I work in...where about 500 people enter and exit everyday. As a matter of safety the gator was disposed of...unfortunately, gators over about 5 feet cannot be relocated.

destiny

sorry kid, but you're more than likely going to have curly hair & a lot of books.

the shack

mike read the shack earlier this year as part of a men's retreat & has been telling me to read it since... started it tuesday... finished it yesterday.
what a crazy book.
i think we could all stand to read it.

pappy!!

6 months!

hudson had his 6 month check up today... 17 pounds, 4 ounces & 26 inches makes him an exactly average baby. of course we think he's 99th percentile for cuteness, smartness & all the categories that matter :). he's healthy & only cried a few seconds after getting 4 "swords" (as our friends, the dolsons, like to call them) stuck into his legs. the vaccinations are always much worse on mama.

here's our 50th percentile boy sitting up!
